True Security Design, a leading law enforcement and school security consulting and training firm, has been selected as the winner of American Security Today’s 2021 ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Award for Best Law Enforcement Training Solution.

In response to the fluidity of the pandemic, True Security Design rolled out a flexible law enforcement training program including live in-person and remote training, as well as an on-demand video training service that trained over 900 officers this year to date.

The new on-demand service enables police agencies to train their entire staff for the cost of a single officer training. Designed to meet the tight scheduling demands of the profession, the on-demand service allows police officers the flexibility to train at any time. With a subscription-based model, this offering stretches scarce training dollars and provides training for the same cost to every officer, in any size agency.

The live and on-demand training content, including over 50 available courses and expanding, is being delivered and overseen by Lt. Joseph Pangaro, a 27-year veteran Law Enforcement officer who retired at the rank of Lieutenant in 2013. Lt. Pangaro was the lead training instructor at his police agency and was certified as an instructor by the NJ Police Training Commission. During his career, Lt. Pangaro served in the Patrol Division, the Detective Division, the Training Division, and the Administration Division. He is also a certified hostage and crisis negotiator, having received training from the FBI.

“We are honored to be recognized for our police training achievements in American Security Today’s distinguished 2021 ‘ASTORS’ Awards Program,” stated Joseph Pangaro, Global Training Director at True Security Design. “As a trusted partner to police agencies across the country, we recognize the difficulties and challenges these professionals face on a daily basis and have designed our training programs to better prepare them and help alleviate some of the occupational stresses they endure.”

The Annual ‘ASTORS’ Awards, now in its sixth year, is the preeminent U.S. Homeland Security Awards Program, highlighting the most cutting-edge and forward-thinking security solutions coming onto the market today.

“‘ASTORS’ nominations are evaluated on their technical innovation, interoperability, specific impact within the category, overall impact to the industry, relatability to other industry technologies, and application feasibility outside of the industry,” said AST’s Publisher, Michael J. Madsen.
