COLUMBIA, S.C. (PRWEB) January 19, 2021
Softdocs, an education-focused provider of document management, electronic forms and workflow automation solutions, today announced the addition of 74 new educational institutions to its cloud environment in 2020, including 38 migrations from legacy ECM systems. With disruption sweeping the education space, and fueling institutions’ efforts towards operational transformation, Softdocs continued in its mission to design, develop and deliver cloud ECM solutions for institutions to leverage in simplifying business processes and supporting the experience provided to students and staff.
“As institutions have responded to recent disruption, we’ve seen thorough review of key processes and systems—including legacy enterprise content management—as well as a faster pace in shifting on premise deployments to the cloud,” said Mike Murphy, President and Chief Executive Officer of Softdocs. “Over the last twelve months, we’ve worked with institutions across higher education and K-12 to digitize records, processes and forms through our Etrieve platform, in the process completing dozens of client ECM migrations and adding 74 new institutions to the Softdocs Cloud Community.”
Architected for the cloud and use by the education space, Softdocs’ Etrieve platform combines content management, electronic forms and workflow functionality into an easily scalable, integrated ECM experience for every end user—whether on campus or online and working remotely. For institutions seeking to digitize time-intensive processes, paper forms and piles of records, Etrieve provides a cloud-based content repository to complement its dynamic, mobile-friendly e-forms and process automation tools. However, Etrieve does also allow institutions to integrate the platform with an already-deployed content repository—a beneficial feature for institutions seeking to quickly stand up electronic forms and workflow automation in key areas with urgent need.
Many of the institutions that opted to join the Softdocs client base and implement Etrieve in the cloud chose to migrate from legacy ECM solutions including Perceptive Content (formerly ImageNow) and NolijWeb, while for others Etrieve replaced hard-copy files and forms on campus. Looking beyond the features and functionality of Etrieve itself, Softdocs attributes a large portion of its 2020 client base expansion to the strengthening of key partnerships with leading ERP vendors, including Ellucian and Jenzabar. Such partnerships are integral to Softdocs’ continual efforts to advance Etrieve functionality and the platform’s ability to seamlessly integrate with the ERPs, CRMs and other campus systems at the core of their clients’ technology stacks.
Recognizing that Softdocs’ clients, both existing and prospective, began facing many unique challenges throughout 2020, Softdocs expanded the role of its Client Development Partners and internal Customer Advocacy Team. The company also redesigned their monthly product roadmap to better inform clients of new and upcoming features. This response not only positioned Softdocs to be highly responsive in prioritizing education customer needs with increased visibility into discussions on product roadmap and new feature development, but sparked intensive collaboration between client institutions and Product Owners within the Softdocs Community portal. Softdocs has identified this collaboration as a key factor in much of the success experienced by the company and their clients in 2020.
“As the education market has adapted to the many demands this pandemic has placed upon it, we have observed two important trends. First, the conspicuous need for electronic forms and process automation tools, either deployed in conjunction with Etrieve for content management or an already-deployed content repository, even potentially independent of both. Secondly, a seamless shift to the cloud as part of an aggressive security or deployment strategy,” said Robert Satcher, Executive Vice President of Softdocs. “Recognizing that educational institutions will continue to face many unique challenges in the years to come, Softdocs is 100% focused on helping our education clients clear every hurdle in their continuous evolution, solving new challenges that arise in the education space. And our leadership in taking to the ECM to the cloud for the education space brings great promise for our clients and our company in 2021.”
Softdocs develops document management, electronic forms, workflow automation and print customization solutions for the higher education and K-12 markets. The company’s Etrieve platform, and complementary solutions, empower educational institutions to work more efficiently, communicate more effectively and collaborate more freely.
