“The acceleration of nurse staffing costs is creating both budgetary and morale problems within the healthcare community. It is important that these healthcare entities begin to move toward platforms that connect them more closely to the limited supply of nurses.”

Healthcare Staffing Software Provider BlueSky announces its sponsorship and participation in the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA) annual conference for 2022. ASHHRA22 is taking place April 24th through April 27th, 2022, at the Phoenix Convention Center. The ASHHRA Annual Conference and Exposition is where HR leaders from across the continuum of care gather to learn about the latest trends impacting the HR function in the healthcare work environment.

This year’s conference features a huge variety of dynamic keynote speakers, breakout learning sessions, CEUs, and more specifically geared for healthcare HR professionals. The latest in healthcare HR innovations will be showcased throughout the event, including the latest HR trends, software, products, and solutions that are sure to have huge impacts on healthcare organizations throughout 2022 and beyond. With the current labor shortage, ASHHRA22 offers an invaluable array of resources to any organization that might be struggling with the myriad of workforce issues that have been bubbling in healthcare since the pandemic began.

Among the breakout Learning Sessions is Adventist Healthcare System, a beta test participant of BlueSky Medical Staffing Software’s latest software release. Their Learning Session, titled “Taking Control of Contingent Labor,” will be helmed by Adventist Health’s Melissa Hosey, NP-C, Director, Clinical Workforce and Joe Heilman, Program Manager, Centralized Staffing. Their session will revolve around the cracks they discovered in their system-wide response to contingent labor through the pandemic – spiraling labor costs, managed service provider (MSP) issues, inaccurate reporting, and more – and how they sealed those cracks, including the role BlueSky Medical Staffing Software played to help resolve these issues during one of the most volatile periods in healthcare staffing history.

Tim Teague, President of BlueSky, had this to say about the current staffing climate:

“The acceleration of nurse staffing costs is creating both budgetary and morale problems within the healthcare community. It is important that these healthcare entities begin to move toward platforms that connect them more closely to the limited supply of nurses.”

Technology needs to be embraced to stay afloat in 2022. By utilizing BlueSky’s staffing software, all contingent personnel relationships across Adventist Health’s 28-hospital system were consolidated to provide centralized control and reporting with the added benefit to quickly establish their own “self-service” agency. This newfound consolidation is responsible for eliminating many outside costs while helping their staffing operations run more efficiently during even the most demanding of seasons; a first for healthcare staffing.

Adventist Health’s learning session “Taking Control of Contingent Labor” will be taking place on Monday, April 25th, 2022 at 3:30pm and will dive into great detail about how they turned their contingent labor issues around through embrace of technology.
